The Mill Valley Farmer´s Market supports a local living economy, by offering as many products as possible that are produced in the Chesapeake Bay Watershed by locally owned farms and companies. Our primary produce suppliers are One Straw Farm and Tuscarora Organic Growers. Our coffee is organic, shade grown, fair trade, roasted in Baltimore, by Zeke´s Coffee. Our dairy products come from pasture raised, hormone free, antibiotic free cows and chickens from local dairies, Trickling Springs Creamery & South Mountain Creamery. Our artisan breads are baked fresh daily at Stone Mill Bakery in Woodberry, MD. Cakes, pies and cookies are produced just up the road in Hampden, MD., by Rose´s Cookies. Whiskey Island Pirate Shop offers locally produced, small batch condiments and salsa.
In the garden center, we offer plants grown throughout the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. All nurseries are locally owned. We are pleased to offer plastic containers produced in Akron, Ohio and decorative pots produced in Pennsylvania. We do not buy any pottery from China. We prefer the imports that we carry from South America, Italy, Vietnam and Malaysia, due to the fact that these are all fair trade items or certified as child labor free. Our fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides and soil amendments are organic or natural.
